I heard of someone who named their child after a whole football team. It's a bit mean though...

You can give your child an unlimited number of middle names. My husband has 2, but he is Hispanic. We gave our daughter two middle names. We knew she would be our last child, so my husband chose her first name, I chose the next name and my son chose the last name. We have both middle names on her social security card, but most doctor files and other legal documents and standardized tests only show her first middle name since there isn't room on the forms for all of them. It's OK to give as many names as you want, but the social security office may want to limit it to 2 middle names because the entire name wouldn't fit on the card. You can add the extra middle names to "other names used" (Basically, just write out the entire name first to last.)

There's no legal limit, but remember that your child will have to live with whatever you give him. Think about how YOU'D like it if it took you an hour just to fill out a form with your name on it.

I doubt that there is a legal limit- however, I would never give my child more than 2.

I don't think there is a legal limit; however, I think more than two become cumbersome and awkward for the child.

Imagine trying to write out:
Amy Elizabeth Hannah Marie Jenivive Harper-McCormick.
It would take forever!!!

But what about Amy Elizabeth Harper or Hannah Marie McCormick...much better.

There is no legal limit but 3 is pushing it. Any more than 3 is just a bit silly.

There's no limit, however I wouldn't go over 2 or 3 for the child's sake.

There is not limed. For example in Spain the royalty family has like 5 middle names, you can do whatever you want. But for your child does not hate you for the rest of his life don’t use more than 3. It will be difficult form him to sign papers and to be identify. Which name he will like?? You can call him by one, his friends by other, etc.

I dont think there is a legal limit. But the poor child had to learn it and learn how to write it and spell it and God forbid he/she doesnt run out of room LOL

No...I don't know if you read about the gal just this year who gave her baby 24 middle names...

I would think that anything over 2 middle names in the USA would be child abuse.
