Please let me know, I've been counting them on the world map and I've lost track at least 10 times already.. I am getting really tired and frustrated

Well, I guess it depends on your definition of a country. The CIA world factbook says there are 265 nations, dependent areas, and other areas.

Wiki has a list of countries and it has 193. I guess the CIA list has some places that are not technically a country (such as a dependent area of other area)
