its the famous BSOD (google it) the best way is to go into safe mode and uninstall anything you may have recently installed. another way is to totally reformat your PC. If you do not know how to, consult your local PC repair shop.

Is this XP?

1. If you uninstall Windows Live and use just Windows Messenger, will it stay up?
2. Another option is to leave Windows Live installed but run "Last known good configuration" from the boot menu (press F8 after POST has finished - you may have to press it repeatedly. If you get the Windows splash screen and not the boot menu, F8 didn't get pressed at the right split second. Reboot and try again).
3. Are you using the correct version? In other words, were you trying to install the Vista version on XP? This is overly simplistic, but you'd be surprised at what some folks will do without thinking.
4. Check in your Event Viewer to see if there are any telling entries on why it is crashing.

Good luck!

I get this error, when my computer crashes, print screen the screen with lots of writing, paste and read, if that works. Also, try taking any discs out of your computer, that helped me in a few occasions. Also thanks for answering my question, I fixed it, but still I might aswell earn myself 3 points and you 10, rather than deleting it. I'm going to choose you as best answer, as soon as I can!

Remove any new software/hardware if u did so..Also try getting into safe mode n clean the software n try again..Else it is really a hardware issue - RAM, hard disk etc...So isolate the cause wit the help of a friend..

Hi,
Try this just put your Windows install disk into your CD drive and then reboot your system, when it boots from the CD just select the "Repair" option. This should help you.
