Seriously!!!!! I see people giving best answer to answers that are either wrong like homework questions or questions that make no sense and i was trying to make an excuse maybe for their actions. WHAT DO YOU THINK?????????

I think some people with bad answers get the "best answer" because it is the same person asking the question and answering it under a different name.
This way they get more points.

Heaven's no, I have given best when the answer wasn't really an answer to the question. But I had to give the person credit for being amusing, at the very least. Maybe it is the wrong way to go on these things. I know its spurs a lot of dissension and I have gotten a couple of fairly abusive emails because of it.

I never have. I give best answer because I like their answer or they agree with me or really answered the question. I also give a commentary on everyone else's answers usually. I see what you are saying sometimes. I usually disagree with the person who wins best answer in some questions.
