and these vile animals get to spend a very long time behind bars. How barbaric can some of our youths be? The youngest of these animals was 10 when the offence took place.

What a way for a man to die, to be stoned to death by a group of teenagers - in front of your son. This has to stop. Those convicted have wasted their lives, they will never get jobs with a criminal conviction for manslaughter - what a waste for everyone but most of all the family and son of the victim.

How long should they get?

Unfortunately in soft middleclass dominated England nothing very much will happen to the 'little murderers'. We will be told they were just a group of innocent boys out playing.

There is no such thing as a group of innocent boys out playing. Once boys are allowed to 'gang' together without adult supervision, they run wild. First it's a small thing, next something a bit more adventerous and so on up through the ranks of crimes until someone gets killed.

Everyone in authority, judges, social services etc., should have to read "Lord of the Flies" as part of their 'training' and should be tested upon it and have a good knowledge of boys and how they behave.

I am now 66 and can testify to the fact that growing up at boy in the 1940s and 50s was positively dangerous. We somehow managed to survive, but there always seemed to be an adult or adults on hand to maintain order. The boys of today do not 'obey' adults when spoken to by them. Why? Because they see adults as 'soft' and they know that adults cannot harm them.

It's a simple matter of "spare the rod and spoil the child".

Yeah I know! Reading that last line above and people will begin to think I'm some kinda of freak. I'm not and know exactly what I'm talking about. If boys are allowed to go unpunished in their early years, they think they are invincible and can get away with murder and they will.

The situation will just get worse because our country is dominated by people who have 'liberal theories' about how to bring up boys. It is not working and the tried and tested methods of the past do and can work.

Boys should be organised and kept busy all day and through physical exercise and exertion will overcome their desire and lust to kill. Well not entirely perhaps, after all, some boys will grow up to be soldiers to protect us from the enemy. So, to some extent we do need their killer instinct, but it must be controlled.

Exactly.

Youth of to day use the age cop out to get away with what they want and is used as excuse to carry out these crimes.

Theirs a lack of respect from children today, one that didn't exist years ago.

They have committed murder and should be treated like all convicted murderers and have custodial sentences for that.

I find the excuse of throwing stones to knock over the stumps hollow and lacking substance.

How long should they get.... Life and no parole so that they are held up as an example to all other teenagers that if they walk this path, they face same punishment.

Oh dear lord, retox, that just broke my heart.
Where has the innocence of youth gone ?.

I read your question and couldn't help but think of the book 'Lord of the flies'. This is what happens when there is no fear of consequence, or respect for others, lawlessness ensues.

They looked for trouble, found it, and should now pay in kind, but that will not happen in lax Britain, but life should mean life.

20 years to end of your days without chance of parole would be my recommendation for malice with intent.

The bunch of criminals should get the book thrown at them. Seems in America there is no accountability, look at the famous football player Vick into dog fights. There are criminals in the government and churches, the morals have slipped to an all time low.

I would imagine that they would serve a minium term, (just remember the Bulger killers). They were only 10 years old at the time. Eventually these animals will be given new identities, money and sent on their way to mingle in with society. The sooner that life means life the better and safer society as a whole will be.

Justice wont be done. These kids will serve a minimum sentence and be given all sorts of counselling etc at taxpayers expense. I think they should have charged the parents for allowing these children to behave this way.

We have to note that there may be a connection here with the current government policy of trying to get lone parents 'into work', at any cost, as an 'example' to their families and to favourably massage employment statistics.
Then the people these parents have allegiance to primarily is not their children, or their community, but their employers.
Think about it.

I wonder if kids these days think we live in a cartoon world where if you hit someone across the head a lump protrudes and stars and birds float around. I'm sure not all of them realise their actions can kill, they look upon violence as a joke!!

I don't care how old they are, the punishment should fit the crime, bet it won't though.

They should spend the rest of their pitiful lives behind bars.....and if they ever get out, then the rest of their days should be spent working and sending the monies to the victims family........

they probably learned this via a video game and decided to do it for real.........
