No. I think it's hilarious. I especially love the few episodes where actual moms come out to get snapped on.
Look, it's all in good fun. And the participants know what they're getting into. Pulling no punches is what makes it great.
"Playing the dozens" is an old tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. It's just a good way to get laughs. Don't take it too seriously.

Yo mama is meant to be an insult. Nowadays its used so often that it's lost it's sting. Take the MTV show called, "yo mama." It's person versus person insults with plenty of yo mama jokes in it. So yes it technically is an insult but it's been used so often that it doesn't carry the same sting that it once did.

no i dont think it's mean unless u add an insult after it...but "yo mama" is used around where i live alot so no point caring if it's mean or not...im so used to the saying. But when someone disses my mom i dont just stand around. I do something.

No, but I think it is stupid. I also think it probably teaches kids who are watching that disrespecting someone's mother is funny, and they'll probably try it at school and get their @$$ kicked by another kid. "Yo mama" jokes were all the thing when I was a kid, but there was always that one kid who would take it too far and really hurt someone's feelings.

It's a slang term that has been over done. It's time to let it die, be creative and start a new one.
