The self serving interests on the left really bothers me, in a cheap attempt to get elected they are all bashing Bush for going into Iraq after they had approved the war in the first place and are now screaming to leave immediately. This is called 'spin' or B.S. because in reality they know that whom ever is elected will not immediately pull out, the simple fact is that we must stay as long as it takes to secure Iraq politically and militarily or we will face the most horrific situation that we have ever experienced as a country.
It's no longer how or why we got there, it's how we are able to secure the country and slowly leave over the next few years and let's be realistic you lefty people, we will never completely pull out with Iran's growing military threat.
P.S. To the Bush Bashers; Mr. Bush went into Iraq with the same information the lefties in congress had to vote 'yes' with and a lot of that info was collected by the Clinton administration. Stop your sobbin'

I am more conservative...but, you question is flawed!!! I am very critical how we handled the war. Bush is not the problem...but, the people who work around him are corrupt. I voted for him both times. But, I am very upset how this war has been handled.

Well to all the people that want to say that there are no bad guys in Iraq I have this to say. I am a Marine in the grunts and have been to Iraq twice and I have two Purple Hearts. No bad guys? This is not about one single country. The entire middle east helps these people. It is a different culture here. Unless you have been here for a period of time longer than 30 days you and have worked with the people you would understand that. This war is not about Bush. This war is not about republicans or democrats. This war is about the United States saying if you mess with us we are going to come and kill you. The rest of the world got a very important message when we took Iraq in three weeks. It showed the world that we are strong and are not affraid. What we are showing now is that because some people don't like the presedent we don't have the stomach to stay with the cause and finish the job of making this country a working democracy. We can leave this country yes very easily. Ya we won the war, but if we help make this country a democratic state it sends a message to the whole world that any thing is possible. If you hate the president that is fine. If you love the president that is fine too. This is not about him and I think that a lot of Americans can't get past their own hatred to see the greater good. We can not afford to pull out and show the world that we are weak and that we don't have the resolve to finish what we started.
Thank you for reading this.

The "left wingers" didn't approve the war -- the entire congress including the democrat moderates did. Maybe some real left wingers want to leave immediately most democrats realize that it will take some time to do so.
"Mr. Bush went into Iraq with the same information the lefties in congress had to vote 'yes' with and a lot of that info was collected by the Clinton administration. " This is totally false which you would know if you did a little research instead of repeating right wing spin. Iran is not a threat to the US any more than Iraq was before we invaded.

Because some people change more frequently than under where. LOL
9/11 happens they were all gung ho ready to go. They all voted for the war.
Now they blame Bush just to get elected, it's ridiculous. They want to roll over and let the terrorists win.
I have my likes and many dislikes about Bush but he still has my full support.
As far as Iraq having weapons of mass destruction I say "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence"
They say prove they have weapons, I say prove the don't.
Bush is a better man than I am, If it was up to me I would've just blown Iraq off the map.

This is not a question that you are seeking an answer to, it's obvious that no matter what anyone says here you will not change your mind. So let me ask you a question, Why are you so closed minded on this issue?
The reasons we intially went into Iraq are very questionable and the war hasn't been handled properly from the begining. If we stay now, exactly how long will we stay. We essentially declared victory in Iraq on May 1, 2003 which was 4 and a half years ago. When will the Iraqies step up and take control of there own country? Perhaps they won't until we step back and allow them to. We've tried your (Bush's) way, now let's try something else. We won, victory has been declared it's time to move on.

Pour yourself some more Kool- Aid.
I'm not a Bush- Basher. I don't agree with most of what the man says (I find his fundamentalism downright scary), but this is what he, and you, believe:
"It's no longer how or why we got there, it's how we are able to secure the country and slowly leave over the next few years and let's be realistic you lefty people, we will never completely pull out with Iran's growing military threat"
So, you don't care that someone flat out LIED to you? This war was manufactured, and when it didn't pan out the way that the Administration wanted, they SPUN it from WMD's to Regime change. That's an insult to everyone who threw their support behind this President and government after 09/11. But like Hannity, Laura Ingram, Ann Coulter, Michael Savage, and the rest of the unreasonable lunatics that say "Support the President, no matter what he does", you still trust a man that downright lied to your face, and got either your kids, or your neighbors kids, or the kids in your community, involved in a war that may NEVER end.
You are correct in one point though: Iran is a growing threat. Iran was a threat BEFORE WE WENT TO IRAQ! The real reason we are in Iraq is because this government has been pushing for a complete change in the Middle East. They've wanted to take out Iran for years and want Iraq for a convienient jumping off point. But that begs the question: where are those troops going to come from?

You are either not listening to the left or only selectively listening. There are actually few on the left that are calling for a precipitous retreat from Iraq.
There is absolutly no evidence to back up the "most horrific situation.." theory.
Iran is no greater a military threat than it has ever been.
Democrats do get it, for the most part. The Bush Administration handles the Iraq situation incompetently and has dragged the U.S. into a protracted occupation that is horribly expensive in both money and in human lives.

You are missing a very important fact. When congressional approval was given, they believed Bush would take his time. You know, use the authorization as leverage against Saddam. Little did they know he planned on blasting his way in so quickly with no forethought to actually have a plan and course of action. The flowers they greeted us with were so thoughtful and them calling us Liberators just brings chills down my spine. Don't you get that warm fuzzy feeling, too?

truth is, the initial raid on Iraq was a personal vendetta, plain and simple....now I've never ragged on Bush (I think he's hilarious) but there's no need for him to hide the real reason he went to take down Saddam, we all knew he'd need his **** kicked, why not sooner? Because no one had a personal enough reason to go, GW was "getting revenge" for his dad getting "punked" a decade ago.....nothing wrong with that and we all probably would have done the same.....As for staying in Iraq for stability, they're going to tear us up regardless what we do, "we" will never quell that kind of horror for good no matter how altruistic our motives are......now I'm not saying we shouldnt try to free ppl, but let's the the motivations correct....."we're" not 'defending freedom", "we're" protecting a country we should just take over if we want to really secure the country............
Sad truth is, "lefties" and Washington in general seem to forget that America's enemies want us all dead, left and right wingers.......I hope the political types remember that the next time they go to debate the issues

Every thing we have been told to justify the war was a lie. Iraq was the kind of war, that the facts were not used to justify it. It is amazing, how a bunch of chicken hawk neocons made the decision to go to Iraq, and the people that opposed it were Veterans like Murtha and Max Cleland made it clear that we should not be there in the first place. Even Al Gore (a Viet Nam Veteran himself) said that we should defeat the al-Qaeda insurgents in Afghanistan first. You neocons just do not get it. You run around like a bunch of dyslexic bi polars, starting things before you think through it and then, when it falls apart you blame the liberals. As of now, we have a growing insurgency in the whole region, including Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan. There is other insurgent movements starting in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Jordan. Fine job the neocons did, isn't it. Oh, by the way, I served in Iraq, US Army, Camp Taji, Iraq, March 2004 to March 2005. When I first got there, most of the insurgents were from other Arab/ Islamic coutries. By the time I left, most were Iraqi's.

This is all bigger than George Bush, Bill Clinton, and any other person who has been president and who wants to be president. Nothing ever changes no matter who is in office. Since they don't have Russian as an enemy, Islam has been substituted. They are in a greedy rush to control resources and that has always been the plan. All of the propaganda on CNN, FOX and others is just to keep the people divided and from knowing the truth.
