I have hard time just sitting in one place and studying. I really have to focus to get stuff but once I am in focus it takes me little time to study. For instance last night I memorized 9 pages of notes ( word for word) in 3 hours for my test this morning, and I had no trouble during the test. Except maybe this one problem but it was more of a tricky problem.
I don't know how to just sit there and study for hours at a time. I can't study at all in my room. I have to go to the library to actually get anything done. In my room I would turn on music, or say oh well I did this now I can watch t.v for 10 min.
I need help...
What should I do? ANY TIPS? ADVISE?

I don't know if u're the kind that would study in a group... or would sit n chat with ur study buddies! :D

My advice... DON'T sit n study for hours... do it in little time intervals... what I do is that... I always have the hours of the day on huge pieces of paper... then I'd divide it up... n I also divide up the pages that I have to read... n study for 45-60 minutes... go around... on internet... or eat something... or etc.... then I get back to my study after a 5-10 minute break... this way... I don't get tired... n I don't loose focus... cz the time intervals are short...

AND... always start with the most important subject/chapter/material... cz u will most probably get tired towards the end...

last but not least... every instructor has a way of giving questions... each have a trend... n u'll get to know that trend after the first exam... this will make ur job at studying n memorizing much easier... cz u'll know what to focus on more if u don't have enough time... n u wont have enough time towards the end of semester... :D

AND... don't forget to learn... do NOT memorize... just learn :)

Yeah I think you know what you have to do in order to get focused so now you need to start doing it. Do it more often like twice a week. If you will go to the library and study what you learned every week it will make it so much easier for you when it is time for the test. When I was in college (just last spring) I would always rewrite my notes as soon as I got home from class. I would sit down and make them neat looking. Then date them and put them in a folder that was for my notes for that class that had the name of the class on it and final notes. For example: History 530- Final Notes. Then I would keep my original notes in another folder that said the same except have written on it: History 530- Original Notes. I did this because there were some things in my final notes that I did not feel were needed to be written down from the notes I took in class. If they were important and I could see that I needed some more info about something I would always go to my original notes and see if I had made any notes more on a subject that what was in my final notes. Then about a week before a test I would take all of my notes(which if you only have a mid-term and final can be a lot of notes) and rewrite them all, once again. Then from those I would read and reread over them until I knew the information. (The catch is to understand why things happened not just when, when studying history) The same I would do with math and other subjects. I would work and rework problems until I understood how and why I got the correct answer. If you will spend a few hours a week at the library just going over your notes and rewriting them, and working on examples for things like math, chemistry, and so on, you will have no problem making great grades. The thing is if you have a problem with a topic in any class just go to the teacher and ask for help. Don't ever let yourself get and stay confused the longer you are confused the harder it is for the teacher to help you understand what’s going on. Best of Luck!! =) Oh yeah and when reading always use a highlighter or something to mark and point out words and ideas that are of importance. That will make it 10 times easier to find the ideas and words again when you study for a class. =)

my advice to you, which is very effective, try to have a study partner and study group, by doing this you exchange opinions, ideas, and information , at the same time having fun with buddies, your studying for your test at the same time your developing your communication skills and social skills

every hour, have rest period or do other relaxing things.
have a fixed schedule, it's habit forming
have a place where destruction is less unless you're accustomed to it and feel much at ease.
just relax when studying
