I threw away my originals because of rust and corrosion. I purchased new ones on the net and when recieved, i thought the looked too short (approxamately 18" ea.) How long are the originals? I want to say they were between 24" to 30" but not sure. Thanks.

Measure the distance on the gas tank or from where the straps attach. Should be a hook or hole in the frame on one end and a bolt on the other end.

Why not just use the wider banding strap and cut your own and drill out for bolts on one end and fold and rivet on the hook end, or go to jcwhitney .com and get the right ones.
I sold mine 327 punched out 060 over with 4:11 Posi trac and hurst ratchet shift. kicked *** it did. sold car still have engine.
