could it be the thermostat, And the ac works but the fan doesn't come on could the thermostat just make the fan not work at all until its replaced? And the car over heats, Any suggestions

The fan is activated by a temperature sending unit, usually located in or near the thermostat housing. Locate this and use a jumper wire across it to test it. If the fan comes on when you jump the two terminals then you have found the problem.
