I have a 2002 Chevy Prism and when i go over 60mph the car seems to be vibrating/shaking, not violently, but i can feel it though. what would the cause for this be? Thanks for your input.

sounds like a high speed tire vibration...not sure because other things could possibly cause this....but, a fairly easy way to help you narrow down where the vibration is coming from would be to test drive it again at 60+ and feel for the vibration...Do you feel it in the steering wheel?....or do you feel it in your lower back?....if it's more pronounced in the steering wheel...it's probably your front tires...if you feel it in your lower back and butt...it's probably your rear tires..
a tire rotation and balance is fairly inexpensive and if they do find a tire that is out of round or damaged they'll let you know about it.....hope this helps....good luck.

Wheel balance.

Tires are balanced when they are initially installed but the balance changes as the tires wear. Therefore the balance should be re-done every 12-15k miles.

The tires need balanced, possibly a wheel weight fell off.

Either the tires have uneven wear, or are out of balance!

You may have a problem with the front end alignment also!

Have the tires inspected and balanced.
