if you slow down, you look guilty.

It depends on how many mph over the limit I'm driving when I see him/her. If I'm driving 5-7 over, I don't bother, but if I'm driving 10-15, I do ease my foot off the gas - never brake, as it's way too obvious. Nothing is more annoying than driving along at a good clip when the person in front of you slams on the brakes out of cop fear (although, I do appreciate this response during night driving - other people's braking alerts me to the cop ahead, so I don't have to be the one hitting the brakes... or paying the fine).
I usually only speed on the Interstate, anyway, so when I'm cruising at 80 in a 65 - which really isn't even that bad; I still get passed sometimes like I'm standing still - I'm watching for them like a hawk, and I usually see them well in advance, with plenty of time to slow down.

I generally drive within the speed limit. Cops driving behind you look to see who's break lights come on. It is a dead give away that you were speeding. It is better to take you foot off the gas peddle and let the car slow down on it's own rather then hit the breaks. 8:)

The cops here go 30 miles over the speed limit themselves. I don't slow down because they'll ride your bumper until they can pass you. I don't understand why people slow down when the cop is going in the opposite direction.

I slow down. I think it's just a reflex. Even if I am going only 35 my foot just automatically goes off the gas when I see a cop.

depends on what i'm driving. i've sped up on my bike and found out that i can out run a chopper so i always speed up on my bike. they have to have good reason to chase here. if i'm in my jeep there's no way i could out run a cop, of course i don't know it'll go much over the speed limit anyways though. in my pickup i slow down, but i usually watch ahead of me enough for brake lights and know if there is a cop up there anyways...

Instinctively, I usually slow down a little even though I know it's too late by that point. My cousin is a cop and he tells me he appreciates a 'courtesy brake' just because it demonstrates basic respect.

I slow down and I'm even a cop!? Guess I'm just paranoid of the police.
