Eternal happiness means that the experience of happiness we are feeling at present moment ,must be greater than what we experience in the past.
If the experience of happiness ever diminishes, then we experience distress, and cant speak of eternal happiness,
but temporal happiness.
If the experience of happiness is the same then we would
probably loose interest, become dissatisfied, so the experience should be always new, always fresh and always increasing, eternally.
Our experiences in this material world (universe) and that of
others we know, are not of eternal happiness.
There is no record of anyone experiencing eternal happiness in this universe, so we can conclude that eternal happiness, is not to be found in this material world.
According to the ancient books of wisdom , vedas , this happiness is only to be found in the spiritual world,
because this material world is temporal, and whatever happiness its inhabitants experience is also temporal.
The highest form of happiness is love, eternal love

Eternal happiness doesn't mean anything to me because it does NOT exist. No one is happy all the time! There should be some pain, sadness, and sorrow. And all of the other emotions. And if you think about it, our lives are short they don't last an eternity. what I'm trying to say is... Happiness isn't forever, we don't live forever.

Hi Rena,
It's a phrase I've never thought about but I think to me, it would mean 'intense boredom'!!! I just can't imagine being eternally happy, in fact, what is happines? It means so many different things to different people. Some, for instance, seem to have everything: financial security, loving husbands, fredom to do what they want with their days, and yet they will say they're depressed and never happy. Others are content with the small things in life, just having someone to love, the companionship of a pet, the joy of being able to help others. Eternal happiness will mean different things to different people but I don't think I'd like to be in a state of happiness all the time. ... contentment maybe ... but I'd still like a few challenges to stave off listlessness.

Enjoying myself and other people, having a good time, in a place where all the troubles of the world have dissappeared because I've already experienced them and everybody gets along. Where nature has no pollution and yet you can do stuff you enjoy on earth and more. Every race, culture and religion sees the Omnipotent Power in the blue skies and can converse with Him no matter how they saw Him in their earthly lives.

I dont feel that we exist for an eternity, and we have only a short life and should make the most of it. Sure it would be great to live forever and have a gigantic pie in the sky waiting for us, but I simply dont believe its true. Honestly, I feel that the LACK of an afterlife makes my current life much, much more valuable since its all I have.

For Happiness to be Eternal and to be able to experience it that way, I would have to be non-physical. If there is an ebb and flow to it, then I would have to be physical. The ebb would have to exist in order for the flow to feel good. That is necessary for humans so that we can use that energy to create newness and moreness like in Renaissance=rebirth.

An impossible dream in the real world. Heaven or an eternal journey that we can either follow or not. It is also something to fight for.

the journey to be happy.be it to learn, travel or do something that you enjoy..never to stop learning and to achieve your full potential while learning lessons along the way..the only way to be happy all the time is to have positive thoughts, have good energy all the way around with good friends and family,do what you love and love what you do..do something that you find rewarding, embarking on a quest of finding out who you are, being happy with everything you have, not asking for more than necessary and not taking things for granted.it is a process of trial and error, where you find out more about life, the kind of person you are, what you can achieve, not what others can do for you but what you can do for others.i guess that it is a long journey that takes you the long way home, where once completed you will realize how blessed you are. i am on that quest: i love to travel, want to keep doing that, proving to myself and to others that i am a SMART cookies, know what i want out of life,to be a teacher and get a BS in Biotechnology, one day have kids and a family but that can wait until is done with.i want to never stop learning, evern when i am 80, i want my kids to keep me updated and intrigued and to do what i love adn do what i love:help others.
