I was at home, just happened to be watching the news and there was a quick blurb about a car accident involving her. Then, of course, the coverage became more extensive. I pretty much watched the news all night at that point. Very sad. Hard to believe it's been 10 years already.

That weekend involved the news of Princess Di and our cat with a broken leg and vet visits.

I heard it live on the radio in the early hours of the morning. The shocking thing was that the first report said she was only slightly injured and was seen standing up. A few minutes later she had died in hospital!

I was 22, I had gone to a wedding that Saturday night and was bored to death because my spouse did not want to dance at all and all he wanted to do was eat and leave to go home......
sunday morning we went to the store to pick up donuts and we had breakfast at the in law's house and I saw it on CNN.
Ironically I had been reading a book the week before on the Royal Family

I was on the L train pulling into brooklyn in the wee hours of the morning, drunk looking at a passengers paper thinking oh my god...it was a bit unbelievable. I was shocked and sad not that i followed the story it just struck me as how this could have happened.

I was sitting in a bar, drinking beer, listening to music.
when that came on the tv everybody went silent, tv's were turned up and everybody watched for a long time.
It was a horribly sad night
