Thats a tough one...I think from overall what you get, I'd still take Damon...He looked like Jesus with the long hair, which was pretty cool...but there is no denying that ARod is gonna be a HOFer...probably overtake Bonds with HRs eventually...

Damon, is too old at this point, he's on the DL too much and we already have a great DH so he can't fill that roll, so in other words, he's useless let the Yank's keep his clean cut ***.

A-rod is a locker room killer, now Sox's locker room isn't that great right now from what I'm hearing on local radio but think about the 1st series between Yanks and Sox:

Rookie Dustin Perdrioa said that Arod should get plunked for a slide where he lifted his elbow into the rookie's groin. That's a rookie talking s#!^ to a future hall of famer, and the Yankees dugout said....... yep, not a dang thing, no back up from the team.

I'd much rather see Lowell resigned with the year he's having.

But would I trade JD Drew for A-rod? hell yea in a second, I'd take a locker room problem over a guy who never takes the bat off his shoulder!

2 below me: Sox's did buy A-rod, the dang players association wouldn't let him sign for as little money as he was willing to.

No, I just can't picture Rodriguez in a Red Sox uniform. The Red Sox are known for being loose and having fun, and I don't think he would've blended well with the 2004 team and their chemistry.

And heck yes, I would love to have signed Johnny Damon! He was the whole reason I started watching Red Sox games! I remember coming home from school (it was the day before Christmas Eve or something like that), and I was so excited, but then my dad changed it to Damon's press conference, and I started bawling. I really really really miss Johnny! For Christmas that year, I had gotten a Johnny Damon clock AND Johnny Damon picture mounted on a plaque....all in a Red Sox uniform. Needless to say, I haven't hung them up yet

Well, since Damon is washed up now, I think you can say that the Red Sox would have rather bought the Mercenary Rodriguez, rather than having the Yankees buy him.

Considering how J.D Drew turned out it safe to say that the Sox would rather have Damon.

I can't believe they let the guy slip away over a year and a few dollars.

Honestly, I hate them both.I would not chose either one of them.I think Theo Epstein and John Henry made a good decision not giving Damon the money and contract he was after. He's good offensively, but his arm is weak.A-Rod is A-Rod, and I just don't like his cocky and smugness attitude. That does not mean I don't think hes an incredible player, I just don't like him as a person.

I really don't want either one of them. I love Mike Lowell and Coco Crisp. However, if you put a gun to my head and made me pick, I would have to go with Damon. I hate him less and he is on his way out of baseball so we wouldnt have to put up with him too much longer.

Damon in my eyes is slightly overated. (boston fan don't try to kill me) He has a good stick and good range in the outfield but my grandma could run on that arm. lol

Hand's down i would take A-rod your stupid if u dont!

Why are you guys always so jealous and wish that you had all of our players? You have a descent team. Be satisfied. There's nothing wrong with coming in 2nd to the Yankees.
