Funny you should ask...
If there's a corral somewhere close, I put them away, but if not, I will put them in the intersection of where the four parking spots come together next to my car...
Don't tell my fiance - it's one of his biggest pet peeves! He was having a bad morning last weekend and we went to the store, but couldn't get in a parking spot because this guy was leaving his cart there... my fiance (who's generally non-confrontational) went off on him! It was really kind of funny...
I try to put them away more now... :)

I put them back. I hate to go through a parking lot and all the freakin parking spaces are full of carts.

One time my husband and I were shopping at WalMart and I told him to take the cart back to the cart corral. It was real snowy out--he came back to the car--I assumed he put the cart away. As we drove off, I noticed it was upside down in the corral. Hey, at least he put it back, right?

no i dont put them back thats why i bought things there so they can pay people to take the carts away for me !!!

Always put them back. I wouldnt like it if one hit/crashed in to my car.
Quite a lot you need a coin anyway...

i usually bargain with those little old ladies who don't want to get their own. sometimes i make three quarters for one cart.
