I was pregnant and birthed a child 4 years ago, unfortunalty he passed at 14 months old. Ever since then I have not been able to conceive. My husband and I began going to the IVF clinic about 2 months ago. I went through all of the test and found out that everything was fine. During my consoltation she prescribed Clomid. I just want to go through with IVF because the changes of having multiples is greater and after 4 years of trying I want to go through a procedure that is more promising. Is Clomid the common approach to becoming pregnant with assistance or can I just ask for Invetro. Has anyone had good experiences with Clomid as opposed to Invetro.

If you've got the money for InVitro then there is no reason why they wouldn't be willing to move straight to that.
However, if you are using any type of insurance then most insurance companies require you to follow a set protocol of which treatments must be tried first. But if you are a cash patient then yes, call the dr and tell her you have the cash, want to skip the clomid, and go straight for IVF.
However, be aware, the overall success rate of a round of Clomid in women with unexplained infertility is about 20% and the odds of multiples are about 1 in 10.
With IVF, a woman with unexplained infertility has about an 18% success rate per cycle, with the odd of multiples being closer to 30%.
And with any fertility treatment, multiple fetuses is considered risky and is avoided at all costs.
