sometimes i only write 3 or 4 words as an answer and never try to make it better and i get thumbs up!!! and when i write a beautiful answer and work really hard on it i get thumbs down!! really i don't know what to say lol (it doesn't happen always but sometimes it does) , does this happen to you??

Some people become jealous when you write an answer that is better than their own. Their only outlets are either giving you a "thumbs down", or reporting your answer to yahoo as a violation. Since Yahoo does not even read the answers they delete, there is a good chance it will be removed as a result. Especially if it is the best answer out there.

yeah, it happens a lot to me, once I've answered a question, wrote what I felt, and didn't say too much nor working hard for the answer, and I got 12 thumbs up, chosen as the best answer too, wow, I was shocked!!!!!!!!
and when I really work hard for an answer, for example finding a site as a source or checking the spelling again and again, I get bunch of thumbs down, I get shocked too!!!!!!!!

You know what they say about opinions, everyone's got one.
A while back, they used to not have the thumbs up/down thing, so all these idiots would report everyone they didn't agree with, and everyone was getting all kinds of violations. So they came up with this, hoping that people would only report things that truly should not be posted here. We all see how that has worked.

Thumbs down doesn't mean the asker thinks you gave a bad answer. Lately thumbs down is what trolls are doing just for the fun of it. Also, one person who doesn't like you can give a thumbs down. It's not just about a good or bad answer anymore.

there is alot of reasons why. Thumbs down usually means that other answerers disagree with what you have written. They wanna let the persont that asked the question know. If you are getting thumbs up with short nswers maybe you should keep them coming. Maybe thats what readers like the most.It could also be because of competition. Either way, dont take it personal.

Yes because e someone else who answered wants to stop u from getting best answer because they know u have a better one then they do.

Yeah, it does to me too, sometimes. But then again I'm a regular over at R&S so I guess I'm asking for it because a lot of those guys are just beyond crazy.
