"Fashion models" is just another term for the kind of models like on America's Next Top Model. They do a lot of print and runway work, and most of the time the really famous supermodels only model for upscale designers like Prada and Michael Kors, etc. You can probably get a lot of information about the history of the modeling industry if you Google "Fashoin Models".
