Ya, u will need the motherboard drivers for the on-board graphics, sound n network cards...A few of the basic drivers like for USB n other support chips, it will have drivers..If u are really lucky, it wil install the network drivers too...But that wil not be the case mostly n its better to install t drivers from th mobo CD and use as it surely make the best drivers..After that u can update to t latest drivers...

Do rate if it helped....

If you install a new motherboard, then you will need to install the new drivers for it as well. You may be able to get Windows to start without the new drivers but you probably will not get full functionality (i.e. USB, SATA, etc) until the drivers are updated. Windows will probably also force you to reactivate your software key. It will look at the new motherboard and think that it is being installed in a new computer and will want to be registered.

All motherboards need drivers installed. The only exception might be Intel brand MoBo's.

Also, all motherboards come with a driver CD and instructions. Read the MoBo Manual for more info.

after you swap out the board, usually windows will ask you to re-register, or it might ask for the product key (i have had both happen on different systems)it does this due to a major hardware change... and a mb is pretty major. then depending on the board, if it is a replacement of the same board w/ the same configs then it will prob receive it no problem, windows is pretty smart like that... but if it is totally different w/ all new drivers, and all new system configures, you will need to retune the bios, and all that good stuff.... can be a hassle, but can be done... i do it all day!....good luck ~d

Normally xp will recognize the new motherboard without a problem.
