A's fan here!

Well, the "old" fortitude and gumption is not around - they are definitly having a differant year than what we fans are used to seeing.
Injuries abound this year Kotsay, Chavez, Crosby, Harden just to name a few. Street was on rehab until just recently (along with Estaban)
Thomas (the "big hurt"), Kendell and Bradley are gone.
The starting lineup has what? maybe 4 names from last year the rest are new (and young) We have seen at least 50 players at one time or another this year. (the seamstress has been very busy sewing names and numbers on jerseys this year)

Gumption - there are bursts. We win 6 in a row then lose 5 - we are on a one game winning streak right now in fact!
Your Tigers better watch out.

I hate to say wait till next year but they really do not have it in them to make any type of late season run like they usually do.

They may have lost Zito but they have HAREN and STREET

Zito is not doing that great - now where is he at?

The Tigers do have the fortitude and gumption, they proved that final 300 and sixty 5 days. The merely have not got the pitching this 300 and sixty 5 days. Even Verlander, who pitched a no-hitter this 300 and sixty 5 days has had merely an accepted 300 and sixty 5 days. As lots grievance because of the fact the Yankees' pitching gets, the Tigers' is lots worse, in particular because of the fact of injury, and the actuality that numerous the extra youthful adult males have been in all probability wiped out after pitching deep into the season final 300 and sixty 5 days. Andrew Miller grew to become into rushed to the majors and he grew to become right into a techniques from waiting, he mandatory a minimum of one finished season in the minors and could have been observed subsequent season. The Tigers would be back. numerous communities have taken a step back after a great 300 and sixty 5 days, then had a great 300 and sixty 5 days after that. The Tigers somewhat do could desire to plug some holes, and that could desire to be carried out by using shifting Guillen to first and finding a shielding shortstop who can play small ball and make touch, because of the fact the Tigers have some adult males who strike out lots.

I think that they have gone to the youth well one too many times. They keep saying that Harden is the next coming of Tim Hudson when he is showing that he is really Mark Prior with a little less talent...on the open market he would sign with the DL for 15 mill per season (5 year deal). They look like they have lost all motivation to play respectable ball and Beane is selling off all the older peices for peanuts!

I expected them to battle back in the 2nd half just like every year, so I was a bit surprised by them. However, they've had a TON of injuries to KEY players. It's sad when your billionaire won't spend the $ to key your team competitive and keep the fans in the seats.

Yes they do Georgie! And our Tigers can't take them lightly.Leyland has this rookie starting for them from Toledo(Vasquez?)and I hope he doesn't blow it.Jim Leyland must make some good decisions in these games(like take a pitcher out before they score alot of runs off him)-OR-we're done for the season!

They have a great pitching staff, nfortunately there offense pretty much sucks, so I think that will be all for now, let's wait till next season, see if they can find good batters...
