EXCERPT FROM ARTICLE:

TOM DELAY: If [Craig] has been found guilty of what he's been accused of, then yeah. But I do know that the Republicans will do something about it. I do know that if he were a Democrat they would rally around him and they would not do something about it. I do know that the national media is incredibly biased against Republicans that find themselves [in trouble] --

CHRIS MATTHEWS: That's a charge which I've heard before and I can understand why you make it. You make it a lot. Sometimes you have a case to make. Sometimes.

Republicans are held to a higher standard.

Jefferson had 10,000 dollars in his freezer. He has not been asked by Dems to resign. One Dem accused of having sex with Pages recieved a standing ovation from his Dem fellow congressman when he admitted it.

BTW, Chris Mathews in a loser. MSNBC ratings are so low you need a microscope to find them.

It's the job of journalists to inform the public. When Clinton was under investigation about the Lewinsky thing the media covered it for weeks 24/7.I know the claim that was about the perjury but if it was then why all the focus in the coverage on the dirty details like the blue dress, what he exactly did with what woman.
Most of what the media does is about entertainment and sensationalism is entertaining.
What makes the Craig story of importance is that it once again shows the blatant hypocrisy of the moral majority and how everyone suffers if people are forced to stay in the closet.
The amount of questions about this subject and also the level of a big part of those questions give me the impression America still isn't dealing in a mature way with sex and everything related to it.
America has higher teen pregnancy rates than liberal countries like the Netherlands where everyone can be who they are and no one needs to hide.Where people aren't forced to live up to standards that aren't human(even most priests can't live up to abstinence only for **** sake) but are thought how to protect themselves..
Open minded good sexual education and tolerance are needed if you want to prevent these types of tragedies for ALL involved.

I don't think there is a bias in the media about this. It's about sensationalism

I don't really disgree with Delay, but here is the problem with the arguments of the republican party. They are bashing a group of people, but then turning around and performing sexual acts with people they are against.

Does that make sense....no. That is where some of the bias comes from

The democratic party will say he made a mistake and try to cheer him up with, which kind of makes you sick because at times they will continue to say it is ok for someone to perform a crime, which also makes no sense.

Edit: Why thank you Conservative! I'm one of a kind you know!!!

Chris Matthews was trying to be fair to Tom DeLay and the Republican point of view. He's a journalist so he likes to get both sides. After he allows his guests to talk, he presents his own analysis, since this is an opinion show and not an exclusively "news" show.

The media is biased against Republican/Conservatives. I don't need a liberal like Matthews to confirm it for me. But I will confess, it is nice when they actually admit it.

Chris Matthews is just one man with an opinion, he is not the absolute authority on determing "liberal bias" in the media.

In my opinion I agree with him that MSM leans left... but I also believe that they do not lean left as much as Fox News leans right. I think that a lot of conservatives who keep saying there is a "liberal bias" are whiners... we have our own sources that are even more conservative than the overall media's alleged fixation on liberalism.

I tend to be conservative and I have to say that any time we mention the "liberal media" as being unfair to the GOP we look unhinged and paranoid. It looks like we are infants screaming our heads off because the world is not fair. Its time for us to get over ourselves... the media is controlled by corporations NOT liberal elites.

Chris Matthews is about as objective as the O.J. Simpson jury and gets zero percent of my viewing time because of it.

Whether you like DeLay or not, the fact of the matter is he is right...Rebublicans do something about illegal and immoral activities in their ranks, Democrats defend them (Bawney Fwank, Murderin' Ted, for instance).

Matthews was a speechwriter for Carter.

Enough said.
