I cant understand how they can sue the media when they wanted their attention in the first place and they cannot prove what happened to Maddie. Or perhaps they only want stories about them that they approve off if so their beginning to sound like Robert Mugabe.

all they think about is money, they dont care about there child, if they think they can sue a paper because they dont like there opinion then they better start suing half the world, its about time a paper has finally came out saying what a lot of the public have been saying sinse day 1, i hope this paper finnaly gets the police to start looking at the maccans as suspects and wipe that grin of gerrys face, and all this money being raised goes to a good cause, instead of paying for the maccans to travel the world.

Because they're not actually doing anything themselves to find Madeleine and all they have to do is instruct the legal eagles that they hired on day 2 of Madeleine's disappearance to do all the work for them.
I wonder who is footing the bill?

Find the time for what exactly? Lawyers will deal with it. They haven't indicated what they would do with any money and the vultures have landed.

The obvious difference is that people on here can make baseless accusations, the police have to have proof. They can't just inform the press, if that is what they did, that they "think" they did it, at least not without arresting them.

what good does suing the newspapers do ?all they want is more and more money,i would rather be finding my child then having the time to sue newspapers, seems like they got something to hide if you knew you was innocent you would not be bothered what the papers were saying about you .

Because their child isn't missing.....she's dead.......and they know well enough what's happened to her.

You'd spare the time to run around frantically trying to appear innocent if your fancy job, house, lavish lifestyle etc. was at risk of being taken away by some nice policemen and the CPS!

Well, if someone accused you of killing your child i'm sure you'd be very angry about it & would want to do something about it. The paper should not have printed that so why shouldn't they sue them. I'm sure they have people helping them to do this & their main concern is still to find out what happened Maddie.
I think people should have a bit of heart & think how you would feel if it happened to you. It's heartbreaking! Whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty? Besides the police have confirmed they are innocent so why do people continue to call them names & think they're guilty. They're grieving & even if it's not the way we would grieve ourselves it's their way of coping, which they're entitled to do so leave them alone!
