It's a scam--Yahoo does not operate lotteries, and even if they did, you must enter before you could win. This is a version of the Nigerian scam, so named because it started there, and most of them still come from there. The scam usually says that they are officers in a country and have money they need to get out of the country, and if you help them, you will get a percentage of the money. All you have to do is cash the check they will send to them and send them the money. The trick is, the check's a fake, but it's such a good fake that the bank probably won't catch it at first, and then you're out everything you've sent them. They will also sometimes ask you to send a certain amount of money for shipping so you can get the money. Whenever you see this, RUN AWAY! No legitimate lottery, or any other agency, will require you to give them money so you can get more in return.

NO, if you did not enter a sweepstakes, you did not win a sweepstakes.
No, it is not legitimate. If you did not enter a Yahoo/MSN sweepstakes you did not win a sweepstake. This has been circulating for quite some time now and it is oriented to obtain personal information. It is a scam and it is phishing for information. No one from Yahoo will ever ask for your personal ID.

ANY EMAIL THAT ASKS THIS IS AN OBVIOUS FRAUD

did you really give this person your personal information there are alot of MAJOR SCAMS like this and usually they send you money like a check want you to cash it and then you sent some money back and what basically happens is the check is a forgery, please do not send them any thing and if you have given them your account information you need to talk to the bank and close this account down you may also need to check your credit report for a while to make sure that they have not opened up any bad accounts using your information. Please go talk to some one at your bank-and they need to send this to their security dept. which in turn will send it to the FBI. This is a scam please be careful!( alot of terrible scams are comming out of Nigeria)

RIP OFF
SCAM

If you didn't enter, then you didn't win. It's a scam. I've won the same thing four times now.

Send them no information. If you have then close the account you've given them and open a new one.
