Basically, some people resent their success and the attention they get. Here is the deal on David:

As for Victoria, some think that she is a materialistic person with no real talent and just pouts all the time. But then again, Victoria has released four UK Top 10 singles since the Spice Girls split up. I think it takes some talent to have top 10 hits in any country. Btw, I like Posh.

I don't agree with the bashing either...I can't believe people are calling them trash. I mean they're good people, have they ever done anything wrong? No. I mean as far as I know, unlike other celebrities they haven't been involved in drugs or anything shady. Beckham is a great role model for young kids to look upto. The thing is though, there's always a lot of media attention surrounding them, some people think they're too overhyped etc. Thats the main reason why people don't like them, which I think is a bit silly since they've pretty much lived most of their lives together in the public eye and its kind of a part of who they are. But anybody that is really famous and has the media surrounding them all the time, is bound to have people that dislike them, its normal. I've grown quite fond of Becks though, he's a real dedicated player with a lot of character.

Well they just moved to Los Angeles and David just signed a fivve-year contract to play for the Galaxy of Major League Soccer. Also, Victoria is a Spice girl as well so the Spice Girls are said to have a reunion coming soon.

I like him, he is talented & very pleasing to look at. :-) You get in the media's attention here & that seems to be the thing they do. I don't agree with it, I think alot of it has gotten completely out of hand. Not only with the Beckham's, but with other celebrities, as well.
Edit: I will joke around on here, but I never mean to "trash" anyone.

jealousy, he is being paid $250 million to play a game. Athletes today are all overpaid and any American would love to trade places with them. Not only are they getting paid enormous amounts of money (enough to take care of generations) but some continue to act like fools and get in trouble. The Beckham's are new to the states, $250 million richer, and being in the constant spotlight, easy to trash for any reason. envy is a son of a gun!

Because as a couple they have been succesfull in everything they have done together.
As individuals DB's record speaks for itself, he's not the sharpest knife in the box but he loves his country and is an outstanding sportsman.
VB's record.....well she was part of a group that had hits, well at least in the UK. As an individual I think she comes across as being a snob. BUT she is a great mother and can't fault her for that.
The press or whoever always pick on people in the spotlight....
Get a life is what I say and good luck to D&V in the USA.
P.S. England rock!

Well David cant put a foot wrong hes a true ambassador to the game. His wife would get alot of better attention if someone advised her that the best way for the idle rich to get better press is noy to shop for clothes al lday but get involved in charity and fulfill other peoples lives. its all about giving back when you get to that stage .
im surprised society hasnt dropped any sublte hints. But no she shops away indulging in her own publicity.

I will tell you why these two are "trashed" so much. The answer is very simple. The Beckham's have reached so much International celebrity status (not sure why), that when they came to this country, people realized that foreigners were fawning over a good looking guy, his attractive wife who was formerly in a world renown pop group 10 years ago (which back in the Spice Girls' heyday, the glam fempower group disguised as a pop force) and that they were and still are considered cheesy---in addition to being popular nonetheless--with the American public.
In short, the Beckhams represent the irony of why the general population of the world, namely the mass media in large fawns over the movement of these two people. Contrasting this is the fact that Americans, myself in general, don't care much for soccer. It is a gritty, competitive sport, but to Joe Q. from Dallas, the average national sentiment is that Beckham is "That British guy who's really good at soccer."
We've also, at least I hope, have become tired of hearing about people who are living rich, famous and relatively carefree. Most people don't have that. In human nature, jealousy is a factor, as well as a sentiment of "Why are they better than me" and I think you'll find a lot of people agree with that latter rational to support why they s*it on the Beckham name.
This, along with overexposure with a capital O is REALLY why they get trashed and it doesn't help that VH1 and E! fawn like little groupies everytime the pair order pizza or go to Starbucks. Also not helping their cause? The fact they're close friends with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes (two already notoriously strange celebrities) who have too much publicity as is in this country.
And to be honest, OP, why does this offend you so much? America in large is going in a backwards direction, where the lives of celebrities, put up on a pedestal for random reasons we'll never know (these two no exception at all) is extreme commonplace. Hell, we have people who seek plastic surgery to look like them. Why are so many people enamored with HALF of the people in the tabloids/gossip shows everyday.
It's embarrassing. It makes us look like pandering, easily misled, fanboys and girls who are overpowered by the mass media who give these people so much publicity it's coming out of our ears.
When people are built up famous in the US, there are, just like anyone else in the world people who are jealous of their success professionally, but also annoyed and jaded by their private lives being shoved down their throats. So what do they do? They complain about it---like me and voice it on websites like Internet Movie Database and then rinse, repeat.
This is how it works. And again, why this is bothering you, I'll never know. Maybe you need to get over them? Not for anything OP, but until they rediscover radium, or better yet cure cancer, you won't be seeing many people buying a People magazine with them on the cover, eating ice cream.

I think these gonads would prefer someone like Michael Vick. It seems dog hating is big around this board.
Maybe D. Beckham can beat the hell out of his wife and shoot someone at a club. Then you'll see his jersey everywhere.

Some people like to hate on people that are better off than they are. They don't like Victoria because she doesn't have to work. She was living the American dream before they moved here.
