During school about two-three days ago I was leaking abolic fluid really bad . I got rushed to the hospital and they said I wasn't dialated but I could go any day now. so, they sent me home to enduce labor and I was to go back if anything happened. Well, my mother is taking control over everything and she called my school and said I was returning Tuesday if I don't have this kid by than. I don't feel comfertable or safe returning but she insists i'm fine.. She won't let me make this decision on my own.. I rather be at home where the doctor is on call 24/7. When can I take medical leave from school, do I need my mom's permission and how do I go about doing that?. what do u guys think would be best?

No offence, but talking trash on someone who is asking a simple question is immature. Grow up. I asked for advice.. Who cares if I spelled the word wrong, doesnt make a difference. you still got the jiff of the question.. now, be mature

Ask your mum to phone or you phone the school and get work sent to you. That way mum can make sure you are getting any work done while you can, and you can stay at home where you feel heaps more comfortable. she might be a pain in the butt and looking over your shoulder but its better than missing out on school work or being sent to school leaking amniotic fluid.
You poor thing, i feel for you but I think that is the best option for everyone. Plus working at home will help to keep your mind occupied and you won't fall behind as much.
Good luck and blessings for an easy and safe delivery.....soon!

There must be a teen pregnancy hotline in your phone book. If not then you can call youth protection and tell them you are being forced to go to school. You DEFINATELY should be allowed to stay home until this baby comes. I am sure being a pregnant teen is hard enough on you without worrying if labor will start at school. I'd like to have a good talk with your Mom. She is not thinking of you at all.

Honestly, if i were you, I would just go back to school. Just have somebody else carry your books and stuff around for you so you don't have any kind of strain. If your school has more than one floor then it should have an elevator that you should be able to use. I've learned that when youre a teenager and pregnant, still living at home..it's just best to do what your mom says.....things go over alot smoother that way. As for the medical leave for school, I tink it really depends on the school district, when I was in high school they didnt offer anything like that for pregnancy, I even know a girl who's mom died when she was in school, and she wasnt alowed to take more than 1 day off (for the funeral).

If I were you I wouldn't want to go back to school either knowing that my baby is very close to arriving. I would sit down and try to make your mom see your point of view (would she want to give birth in school in front of all her classmates?) If she still can't see things your way call your doctor and explain your concerns, maybe he can give you a doctors note to stay home from school. Since you are 18 I don't think you can sign or call yourself out of school, I know in CT you can't until you are 18. I would make a call and talk to your dr. and mom and see where you can get with that. I wish you the best of luck with everything, and congrats on the soon to be new baby!!

well i think you should take medical leave there is no reason to be at school when that baby is ready to come out you don't want your water breaking in the middle of history class! maybe go talk to your school nurse and explain it to her and maybe she could talk to your mom or maybe see if you could do all your class work in her office that way your not worried about bring around 30 other kids in a class or the how many in the crazy hall ways of high school
it sounds to me like your mom isn't to happy about this whole daughter being prego idea and shes just trying to be a bit ch and make you suffer and that isn't right
tell her you don't want you water to break and have to go have the baby in the middle of the hall or anything its better to be home and safter for you or atleast try the nurses office idea thats what 2 girls at my school did
and after the baby is born maybe look in to cyber school for the first few months cuz its gonna be so hard for you to leave your new baby! good luck!

You get medical leave as u call it for 6 weeks after the child is born. Then after 6 weeks you are required by law to go back to school.

If you get the doctor to sign a note saying you can't return to school, your mother won't be able to oppose because she's no doctor. It sounds like she's just worried about your future and is just trying to make you finish highschool. After getting the note from your doctor, I suggest you talk to her and promise that you will return to school once the baby is born. After all she's just trying to help.

What's abolic fluid?
I think you should let your mother call the shots here. If the doctor says its okay for you to go back to school Tuesday, then go ahead and go. Believe me, when this child is born you're going to be glad you got as much school completed as possible.
