Like I always say.....to each his own.
No, it is not a sin to believe and request help from Datuk Kong or other deities as long as you believe in them.
There are many other religions that also practise such beliefs.
So, no, it is not wrong.

That depends upon your religion. Some religions, such as Christianity, would consider that a sin because it would be like worshipping another god.
Other religions would feel that God created these other things (trees) and so believing in and seeking help from those others are ways to reach God as well.
It depends upon your views and beliefs.

No. I don't think so. If you make the decission to believe deity. You are the animism which concentrate on your belief with the deeply respective and it will support your request helping to be successful and that is the moral not sin.
Be concentrate and respect will be the cause of unbelievable happen to you.
