Most people just jump into a car and aim it! There is little skill needed to drive an automatic. A stick takes some learning and when you master this process, you will be a much better driver, because you will be more connected to the car and what is happening. Starting will be the most difficult thing, with shifting a little less difficult. Next is stopping. But when you understand this process, you will be thinking how you will go around a corner (some planning) and this will actually make you a safer driver. You will learn to use your right foot for gas or brakes and your left foot for the clutch. People who use their left foot for the brake usually have bad driving habits. The advantage of the stick is better gas mileage and more control of the car. You will be less impulsive so this will be safer. I say get the stick shift. If my mother and grandmother can drive a stick, so can you! Less people will want to drive your car too, because less people know how to drive a stick. And a car thief may also be unskilled in driving a stick, so an advantage. To properly drive a stick shift, you need to think a little bit more, so this will make you a better driver in the long run. Good luck! p.s. The people above who mention cellphone use as a reason for auto trans are DANGEROUS drivers! Also a stick requires very little maintenance and lasts longer.

I think Desdiona sounds incredibly made-up, so my choice would be Desdemona. Desdiona sounds like a child who can't say Desdemona.
