Hello-
i recently have updated all parts on my computer (new monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers)
everything except the tower.
since my computer tower is very old, my computer is very very slow.
i was wondering if it's possible to buy just a tower for a computer.
thanks.

You mean you want to replace the computer itself? Yes, absolutely. There are many websites that sell stand-alone computers to meet almost any budget. I would suggest spending $600 (£300) to get a reasonable low-budget PC.
There are so many stores to choose from I can't recommend any one in particular, but Maplins or NewEgg are a good place to start.
You will need an operating system with your PC, so look for a computer that comes supplied with Windows XP or Vista; XP is by far the safest choice of the two. If you prefer, you can buy a computer without an operating system and buy it separately;
if you do, buy an "OEM" copy of Windows(original equipment manufacturer), these are exactly the same as regular copies of Windows but they come without a box... the difference is that they cost half the price.
btw, do you know how old your present computer is? You may find that with the addition of an extra RAM stick (more memory) it might be fast enough for what you need. You should also defragment the drive and do a full anti-virus and anti-spyware scan to make sure there are no nasties that are responsible for making your old PC so slow.

Yes. most of the "hole-in-the-wall" independant computer stores all over the country will sell just the case.
however, if you're computer is old, and running slow, just buying a new case for all of your old internal stuff will not do anything.
The three hardware components that effect speed are:
CPU (which would require buying a new motherboard along with it, which would require a new tower, true)
Ram (somewhat cheap, but depending on the age of your computer, you might not be able to get old enough ram. if this is the case you will need a new motherboard/cpu)
Hard Drive.
There are software ways to boost the speed of any computer, no matter how old. there are e-book FAQ's you can find on the internet that would walk you through the steps, as well as free utilities, as well as companies like bettertechs that will fix your computer and make it run much faster for you remotely.

You sure can. There are tons of computer cases on the market. You can even get them from a good local store as well. Make sure you get one with a good power supply. Most new gaming computers should have upwards of 500W, an office comp should handle 350-450W. Try looking at newegg.com under computer cases. Most PC's these days use ATX format, so look under that heading. A mid tower is probably the best bet. Mini towers are for space saving, and full towers are only useful if you need to pack in a ton of extra hardware.

YES of course and you have so MANY options in terms of tower size, colors, transparent side panel, number/size of case fans, , aluminum or steel, etc. The tower will just improve case ventilation and the looks but not the performance of that old PC.
BUT of course if you buy a tower that has everything new in it (complete cpu), then you practically have a spanking new/speedy PC.

Simple answer.....yes you can buy one.
By the way, the casing has nothing to do with the speed of the computer unit.
Hope that helps

Sure you can ,www. newegg.com. Or if you have a computer supply store in your area. Make sure your power supply matches up with the rest of your hardware.
