Aliens can.

At present, nothing has been definitively found that travels faster than light. There are theoretical particles, called tachyons, that always travel faster than light and therefore don't violate relativity, but htey should have observable effects, such a Chernkov radiation. None of the observable effects have been observed when looked for in experiments.

The entanglement of quantum states appears to permit the transmission of information at speeds much greater than the speed of light. This is still an area of active research.

[Edit]
Osi kwara : Sound is a turtle next to a fighter jet when talking about light, so of course it can't travel faster.
Unonimy: The key word you said was object. An object is matter. There are non-matter things that can "travel" faster.

[Original Post]
No *matter* or anything with *mass* can travel faster than light, even in a vacuum. Other things can, but they can't be harnessed to be useful. For instance, a shadow can appear to move faster than light, but it can't transfer information of any kind, so it's useless.

So your answer is yes, but no matter can.

Take a look at this Wiki article that talks about Faster-than-light travel. It lists the things that don't carry information but still have a speed greater than light.

Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light(theory) because when a certain object aproches the speed of light time moves slower for that object, and in order to travel faster than the speed of light infinate energy is needed.

to my knowledge quantum of light was the fastest particle there is. remember that relativity says that time is associated with the speed of light is a sense that the closer and closer you get to that speed strange things begin to happen. Like for example time goes slower. The closer scientist have come to that speed is by particles accelerators.

you can't travel faster than light because it is the limit,But if you will go to one point to the other point you could use a wormhole, even you are not traveling in the speed of light you could be in the point first.

The only 'particles' that can travel faster than light are tachyons.

These are not particle in the traditional sense and are only theoretical,

No tachyons may have mass, otherwise they would voilate relativity.

for light to travel it must push something out of the way. If it doesn't move fast enough to get out of the way then light would stop. So whatever light pushes out of the way would travel for an instant quicker than light, or at least as fast as.

It is surmised that tachyons travel faster than light.
