Sheesh! I think even centenarians talk more than that, and that! after living together for 70 years.
Could it be that you don;'t find each other interesting?
Do you hang on to fill the status quo?
Maybe you should re evaluate what you relationship consists of.
If there is a spark, ask him of his interests, what he wants from the future and reciprocate in kind. Dare to dream!
I do not mean to be rude, but it reminds me of my oldest daughter's first bf. Complete in lack of ambition, nuance and life in general. I hope thats not the case with him.

Aren't you interested in him as a person? Ask him about himself and his life? What does he want to do with his life - what career is he thinking about doing? Does he like sports? There is so much to his life that you don't know about and must be curious about. If he's good at something or has a favourite hobby, as him questions about it. Talk about something you are planning to do together - such as a special celebration or get together.

It's obvious that the two of you have nothing in common if you have to make and effort to have a converstion and try to feel something to say it tells u that it really isn't all that much of a relationship. Get a Clue!

I think you guys have no common interests and are bored with each other. Time to move on or spice it up by trying to sign up for doing things together that you both like.

plan to do things together, like going to the movies or hiking or volunteering, that way you have some other things to talk about.
