can you play xbox games in playstation consoles? i remember my brother doing so; how may i do this? what extensions, applications, materials do i need? how much does it all cost?

i clearly remembered him doing this because my husband had an x-box and he had a ps2. he would borrow some xbox games and play it in his console...

No, Xbox games can only be played on the xbox while Playstation and PS2 games can only be played on the Playstation2 console.
The only thing I can think you saw were games that were released on both the Xbox and the Playstation (games include movie games, Castlevania: Curse of Darkness etc.)

The only way i can think he did this is... The game could have been a copy of another game that on a special disc, that works in both X-box and playstion. But then again how could he have done that because the buttons on the X-Box and the buttons on the Playstation are completely different....
