The easiest way to shut a car off, if you can't access the key to shut it off or open the hood is to just plug off your exhaust pipe, that's if it doesn't have a bad exhaust leak somewhere in the system.
The back pressure will increase and eventually choke out the engine.

Make sure to use something flexable, so you can remove it when your done.( like an orange or other type of fruit, rubber ball, etc....)

Hope this helps!

Can you open the hood? There are lots of ways to stop the engine if you can. I'm not a "car person," but I'm pretty sure I could do it. At least then you can break into your own car at your leisure.

Got spare car keys at home? Once the engine's off, you can call a friend or catch a bus home, grab the spares, and return--if somebody's home to let you in. (I assume your house key is on the same ring.) Or maybe you have to wait until this evening, when people are home from work, but either way, that's going to be the cheapest.

Well, if you can find it........dissconect the 3 or 4 wire connector that goes to the gas tank near the rear of the vehicle. This goes to the fuel pump. Should kill the motor.
The connector should have one purple and one gray wire......the others, am not sure about.
The rest is a job for a locksmith or a spare key.

should be able to get a coat hanger in it...but depends on the type of locks...and requires alot of bending and twisting of the hanger sometimes...truthfully...my little brother had an 85 camaro and we never could get in that thing...and he locked his keys in it at least once a month.

Call the police and tell them the problem, they should come out and open it for you.
