did the computer come with media version on it or have you just installed it?. Could be there is not enough memory to run it properly. Also run a virus check, a spyware check and a registry clean. Then delete temp files and carry out a defrag of your drive.

That could be a virus... Or not. But it could. Just check you computer by disabling system restore, doing an antivurus scan in safe mode and the enabling your system restore again - the reason is a virus may be hidding in your system restore and if it is the only way to fix it is by running the antivirus with it disabled. Also download Spybot - Saerch & Destroy and scan your computer for spyware, adware, malware, it could have something to do with it. Good luck.

i had this problem and usually can fix it with the usual stupid things but mine was still doing the same then someone told me to change the name of my computer .my computers name was my daughters name and i was told if more than one peoples computer name matches it can slow down your network i wasnt convinced id never heard of it before but i changed my comps name to something unusual and it worked i coulnt believe it ,it might not be what is wrong with yours but give it a try
windows is not slow and extremely vulnerable i wouldnt recomend mac

Hit Ctrl-alt-del, and go to Task Manager. Sort the tasks by CPU usage, and kill the task using the most of your CPU by highlighting it, and clicking on "End Task"
