How can i make compaq presario c504us to run on xp?

it refuses to install xp cds saing that the harddisk is unrecognised.

Please assist cos i have formated

Been inside the box lately? there may be a loose cable. Yout disk drive might be broke, but if not, it might just be incompatible with XP. What version of Windows was on it before?

use a windows xp CD to boot computer it will format the hard drive for you
