What is special about the McCanns that their supporters seem to think they are immune from prosecution. I think maybe even their relatives are angry with them

I've said it before and I'll say it again (and I'll probably keep saying it until the case is over!) but all along, I've said "There's more to this case than meets the eye!" - and if, with all their roaming Europe, seeing the Pope (WHY?) and all the rest of it they've still not found the child, I bet we'll all get a nasty surprise (it says here...) when we finally hear the outcome of this case ! ! !

Slagging matches in the world media is not the right approach at all that is a fact.

However, who made this a media event? The McCanns and rightly so as it gave them a platform to the worlds media. This platform comes at a cost unfortunately you get the publicity that you crave, however, you open yourself to analysis by the worlds press and public.

Yes the McManns should be investigated by the law the same as anyone else thought to be linked to the case.

I know this is a very sensitive topic as it involves a very young and beautiful girl but still the right approach has to be that of logic and if there is any evidence of a link to the girls disappearance then that should be investigated as fully as possible be that with Mr or Mrs X or the McCanns themselves.

Once again the intelligentsia are making their mark. Have any of you actually got children?

There is no evidence about the McCann relatives being angry with them. In actual fact quite the contrary. I find it worrying that all you people don't care about evidence.

You also need to be aware of the fact that any child who is abducted has been watched. These people are like hunters. They wait for their moment and then take it. In this context. All a parent needs to do is take their eye off the ball for a minute. As a father of three I can tell you this does happen. Please remember the McCanns were in a gated community and had presumed they were safe.

so many hypocrites in this world so sad. the amount of times i have seen many parents in UK and other country's leave their child/ren alone in houses, apartments, parks, i have even seen parents to busy talking to friends to notice their child nearly falling out of a buggy! what the McCanns did is nothing different they was unlucky and maybe you would think people would learn from it but instead people throw hate just so much anger in people. its shocking! it's easy to point the finger when someone does wrong i just hope it doesn't happen again but the sad FACT IS IT WILL. quite frankly i have better things to do then throw disgusting angry messages at people who already know they did wrong and are punished enough. yes i do believe they shouldnt have left there children alone but whats done is done.

Yes I think they should be. Rob L said they thought their children were safe but how can they be safe, left in an apartment on their own. It is not just the risk of abduction but a fire could have started or one of the children could have woken up and fallen over and hurt itself. So I don't understand what point was being made by that comment Rob.

I also have 2 children (13 and 10) and would not dream of leaving them in an apartment on their own in a foreign country. I know they can be taken by somebody even when when you watch them as best you can, but you certainly don't make it easy for abductors to take them by leaving them alone. As you said they are like hunters and watch and wait for an opportunity so you don't give them that opportunity on a plate.

dont like the mccanns but do agree they should be done for neglect of their kids if nothing else the pro mccanns are probely just saying that because of their stance in society them being doctors and all so social services will defend them because there is to much paper work and red tape to prosecute them

I would rather Social Services concentrated on serious cases of child abuse and neglect. I would prefer it if Social Services had the resources and skills to prevent awful cases like the woman who stabbed her baby to death the other week or the many cases of children who are victims of violence in the home.

I do not think it is proper use of their time to investigate the McCanns for neglect.

If there is a case then they should be investigated. However, some sections of the public have made themselves the prosecutor, the jury, the judge and the executioner which shows their disregard for the justice system and ironically they hide behind the slogan of justice. Innocent until proven guilty is the pinnacle of our justice system; The Magna Carta protected the individual from the Mob, and that was some 900 years ago.

I think that would be something for the police or other relevant authority to decide. Don't you!!

Do you just put a post up for the sake of it or do you genuinely believe the tripe you spout. I would hate to be on trial and you in the jury.

You clearly remain ignorant to the points of view of the 'pro mccanns', I have never, I repeat NEVER seen anyone on here voice an opinion that supports what the mccanns done or the fact that they acted wrongly, nor do they support child neglect! What they oppose however is the rumour spreading and malicious posts that are basically hounding these people. The mccanns have been accused of murder, drugging their children, swinging and many other things and none have been proven yet, THIS is what the 'pro' mccanns oppose, NOT child neglect.
Nobody here supports child neglect. I hope that you read and understand this, as you are constantly accusing people that have different views to you of supporting child neglect and if you actually took time to read the posts thoroughly and think about them you would have realised this.
