Has anyone had this and suffered depression? I had one injection last November, have lightly-bled almost daily since, and today, 10 months after taking it, I finally get a period.

I also went through about 6 months of a really tough time, outside influences were a large factor, but I'm starting to question whether the pill injection was the cause for the depression I went through.

I didn't recognise myself, have always been a very upbeat person, and I'm feeling normal again now...

Has anyone else had problems with this pill injection?

A friend suggested it was the injection that had caused the depression so I've read up and weight gain, period problems, infertility and depression are all seemingly common...

I think it's a dangerous drug and am considering campaining against it, I feel it's responsible for me losing a few months of my life.

Sorry, by pill injection, I mean the contraceptive injection. It's called Depo.

Hiya sorry to hear about that, but i totally agree with you all contraceptive drugs are dangerous and are prescribed too easily!!
I am going through the same problem although im on the 'Pill' Microgyon 30, i have just now since being on it for 2 years had the bottle to ignore my doctor and come off it myself!!

I think you should definetly campaign against it! I know people who have been great on this but then a couple of people have got really bad mood swings and things!!

The past 2 years of my life have been hell, my depression started about a week after i went on this pill, my doctor still insists the pill would never do this, but it is not uncommmon!!

Good Luck and Glad to see your on the mend!!

I've never had the injection, but I took Yasmin. From yasmin I gained weight, had headaches, got depressed, and deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in deep veins). Different medicine does different things to people. Maybe you should consider an oral contraceptive or another method. It sounds like Depo has had some side effects for you.

i didn't have the injection but had the implant and it turned me into a spotty chubby monster! i was totally depressed, to the point of not being able to leave the house some days and snapping at everyone around me it was awful! hope ur feeling better with it now. i felt the difference very quickly after having it out. however, my own fault i just didn't do enough research first.

Yes, lots of women have very horrible side affects from depo provera.

I would really consider changing your method of contraceptive, too many women have had too many negative side affects from the drug.

Just google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out the reviews from other women who have been on it at http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx

I was on it for four years and I am so glad I am OFF of it.
