Try wiping the walls or floors down where they are coming in with a mixture of water and a few drops of citronella. Spiders hate citronella just like mosquitoes.

Ok, I have the perfect answer to your question if you can stand it. It works for my family but if you don't like critters then it might not be for you. We live in the south and spiders can be terrible in a wooded area. We have a sunroom on our house and believe it or not we keep a couple of regular every day lizards, that you find in your yard, in the house. They eat the spiders and any other little creepy crawly thing that comes in.
Best of all the green lizard is not going to hurt you or your kids. Lizards are great for us and most of the time you don't even know that they are there. Have not seen a spider in my house for years! Good luck.

ORTHO HOME DEFENSE.... Available at HOME DEPOT, LOWE'S, WALMART and TARGET... It can be used inside/outside.. I prefer to do BOTH you spray it along the perimeter of the house inside/outside and the spiders stay away... You might also want to consider "bombing/fogging" the inside if it's a big problem and that will last 3-6 months... Just follow the instructions especially if you have pets...It's also good to pressure wash the outside of the home and brush it with an outside broom every now and then....

Keep clean your walls with long haired dusting brush. And hang a half-cut onion with a thread near your lights. With its sharp smell, no insects and spiders will come near.Otherwise, you can call a Pets-controller.
