Most people are convinced of their guilt without a single shred of evidence- some are criticising their every move, every word, everything about them. Why can't we let them get on with trying to find their daughter? Why do we need to keep vilifying them on no proof? If they are guilty of something then surely we should wait to find out before we crucify them.

Guilty of neglect? Unless we surgically attach our children to us we are never going to able to guarantee their total safety. Children have been kidnapped from their own bedrooms when their parents are asleep next door- do you suggest we never sleep? Are these parents guilty of neglect? If there is someone out there who wants to kidnap, rape, or murder, then it will happen whatever you do. It's nice to know so many of you have clear consciences about never having made a bad decision and lived to regret it. We should be able to leave anything anywhere without the worry that someone will come and deprive us of it.

I appreciate the comments about if you don't like the question look elsewhere- and I do- but I do get really cheesed off by ignorant people who only have the tabloids for reference who make comments which have no grounding in truth or fact. Also I agree, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that includes me. I am neither pro or anti McCann (the concept is revolting) I am merely waiting for some conclusive evidence as to what happened. If the McCanns are guilty of anything underhand then let them pay the price, but until then I am not prepared to convict them of anything.

Agree with you 100%. I have been saying exactly this on here for months.
The lack of proof has never seemed to matter to the ongoing hate campagn, it just ploughs right on regardless.
It is clear that the internet provides a safe haven in terms of anonimity for this sad obssesed individuals , these armchair sherlocks who feel it is ok to accuse the McCanns of all sorts without one shred of PROOF.
They make me sick.

I have no patience with the extreme comments that have been posted about the McCanns. There is no evidence, so far, that they had anything to do with Madeleine's disappearance. To speculate is one thing but to accuse outright is quite another.

I would take issue with you when you say that parents could be sleeping in the next room and a child could be taken. This is a completely false equivalent - the McCanns were not sleeping in the next room. What is more they left those children alone every single night.

I am not convinced about anything except the fact that they continually neglected their children.
For all I know everyone does the same thing but it doesn't make it right.

I don't think that people are hounding them. Some people have blind faith in the McCanns and that's their right but for other people everything doesn't ad up. This is a high profile case with a lot of interest from a lot of people. All the postings on YA are only to keep those interested in the case up to date with all the information thats out there.

Personally I am fed up of reading post from people critisizing and giving out about other people having an alternative opinion rather than have blind faith in the McCanns. If you have had enough of reading these posts then simply dont open them, I personally find this site useful and informative in a case that i have interest in but not all the time of day to research, also it is good to hear other sides of the story.

And do you really think they are doing all in their power to look for her, I personally dont if it was your child suing people making money etc would be the last thing on your mind. And ok there is no proof they did it but likewise there is no proof that she was abducted either.

I believe in the right of opinions and discussions and there are too many post on YA condeming those with an alternative opinion on this case

Yes I agree their needs to be a lull in this story.Because if a person did take maddeleine then they may bring her forward but while all this hounding is going on I dont think their will be a chance of that happening.

"It's turned into little more than an all expenses paid holiday "

The problem is this sort of comment, from oldgit68 gets the thumbs up.

It's ill-informed, the villa is being paid for by them. They have been on unpaid leave for 4 months Even if all the money spent so far had been on them it wouldn't be a lot more than they could have earned in their jobs. Anyone who can think if they are guilty of her murder or not that this is a holiday are clearly blinded by a dislike of them, because they can no longer think straight.

"Most people are convinced of their guilt without a single shred of evidence"

It's obvious that Rami is talking about the accusations of murder not child neglect.

The position of the anti-McCanns is summed up by the fact they are supposed to calmly accept the newspapers saying they killed their daughter, as they courted publicity and this is the consequence. A ridiculous argument as though they were simply publicising their innocence.

Launching their libel action is apparently a diversionary tactic, even though it will obviously mean that all the facts will have to be presented to prove the papers aren't simply telling the truth.

Last week, Jerry McCann asked the media to end the constant speculation about his daughter's whereabouts.

He said there had been "huge amounts written with no substance" and that it was not necessary to "bombard people on a daily basis" with Madeleine's image.

I don't understand how people are condemning them for the MEDIA's response to the case. Its not the McCanns fault that there are some morons in the world who sit and read everything that was written about them, and then complain about the news story

We can't do anything so I think it should be up to the police and the investigators to sort this out.

Yep and I hope that the McCanns take out a Libel case against Yahoo as I advised them to do in an email to them.

I have asked Yahoo repeatedly to get to grips with this as it is slander and I am fed up of seeing these questions and recieving violation notices becaus these idiots are simply that, idiots who don't think.

What is this place Yahoo McCannswers? where people think that they can slag anyone off?

As A paying Yahoo customer, I have told them I am going to be voting with my feet.
