i had to print name cards as a favour and taped them with masking tape to a4 to make it easier. this worked fine till a piece of masking tape removed itself mid-print! The paper then got wedged - I KNOW you are not supposed to pull the paper out the front but yes i did it :(
I took the back off, found and removed said piece of tape. Now the printer has gone haywire! The black cartridge (it was printing colour for the name things) is running streaky after first page of print but i think the colour one is fine. i removed it to fill it up, but sometimes it says new cart. installed when i haven't and i've tried to clean it to no avail. It prints the test page everytime i turn it on. Any ideas? Have i knocked something or cartridge in wrong? Can i clean it better?
thanks

I have the 1200.
And a similar problem a few years back.
I'm not saying this is your problem, but try looking where the paper feeds into the machine. You may have pulled some guide flaps back out of position. Push them back in. A plastic ruler helps.
If not open every part, check for obvious problems and re-close. Also take the cartridge out, and back in. This will reset different things.
After that I can't help.

Try unplugging the power & usb cables, leave for 1 minute or so then re-connect. Worked for me.
