Exercise regularly, cut down on sugar in food, take food with more fibre(like veggies and whole grains),avoid drinking and smoking, avoid oily food. There are ayurvedic tablets(made of garlic) which supposedly decrease cholesterol level-you might want to try those.

Cutting down on dietary fat will help some, but understand that over 90% of the cholesterol in your body is manufactured by your liver. It is used to make hormones and has other necessary purposes as well.
Because a healthy liver regulates cholesterol levels correctly, focus on supporting overall health to improve your cholesterol levels.
That means,
limit processed foods
eliminate artificial sweeteners
eat high fiber foods like oatmeal
eat more fresh fruits and vegetables
limit refined carbs (i.e., white flour, white rice, FHCS, etc)
You won't see changes instantly, but if you stick to an improved lifestyle plan, you will see changes and you will feel great too.

Try to understand mechanism of cholesterol in your body. Probably you may know that all cholesterol are not bad. If it is because of the bad eating habits(say junk foods) then worth treating by natural remedies. If it is genetic then you need a balance treatment of Allopathic drug, herbs and natural remedies. I warn you that if it is genetic then be serious and do not depend too much on herbs and natural remedies. You may use them as complimentary not main line of treatment.Among natural remedies eat every day about 50gems. to100gems. of chickpeas.

Try NIACIN (non-flush type). This is what I've taken for years along with my medications. My homeopathic MD says that it does show effects of lowering cholesterol.
Eat plenty of fiber. If you can't get in food, try an over the counter product like Metamusil.
Check out his site to get more info on lowering your cholesterol

Eat more Cheerios and wheat, lay off the fats, and also try Go Lean cereals. Try and watch your diet as much as possibe and eat more vegatables. They have alot of fiber to help you lower your cholesterol. Also, a major factor is stress. It'll kill you or give you so many other problems.
