How can you become independent, when it is very difficult to find a high-paying job that is sufficient enough to support yourself totally? I am a college graduate. I am intelligent, hard-working, and a great people-person. I was told that you have to create your own opportunities and not rely on anybody else, but that has came to be very difficult for myself since everybody is so selfish and have their own interests and do not want to team up with me to start a business.

Start doing research on how to open the business up by yourself. In the meantime, find a job to keep you going until your business gets off the ground. Think out of the box. that is where the best ideas come from. You might also ask one of your favorite professors about some ideas, or people already successful in the field you plan to get into to.
