If you watch TV, movies, or stage shows you will see that they use people of all ages to portray different stages of life. However it is very difficult to break into the theatre, especially since so many people want the same thing that you want. You won't get jobs if you don't have talent so I would suggest talking to someone who is professional to ask their honest opinion about you acting skills. But you still need to show that you have talent to someone who can help you find jobs. Check out talent agencies and try auditioning for some commercials (you can usually find out when auditions are by looking in the paper of calling the company). You will have to be persistent and accept that you will hear "no" more times than you will hear "yes". It's a hard thing to "get noticed" and there is a part of it that is just plain luck. But keep trying and don't worry about rejection. I know of one actress whose mother brought her to many auditions growing up. She loved auditioning. Getting the part was good too, but she liked auditioning just as much. Through perseverance she ended up staring in a show on the WB (now CW).

Good luck to you.
