Why most of the women are interested about male circumcision, and a lot are in favour of it?

My husband and I did not get our twin boys circumsised. It used to be believed that to circumcise your child would prevent infections, but doctors are now saying that's not true. So why pay $200 to put yourself or your child through something like that for no reason?

I'm not in favour of it at all.

I live in the UK where very few men are circumcised, I have experienced both but I prefer to have an uncircumcised partner by far. More fun to play with, feels better and looks better uncircumcised. I have never met an uncircumcised man for whom hygiene was an issue - it isn't like cleaning is difficult. I suppose I'm interested because I find the general US prejudice against the uncircumcised appalling, when it is the norm in the rest of the world. To be uncircumcised is natural, not unclean or unattractive.

Although it's not really necessary for the health reason it once was, there are inherent problems with remaining intact. The warmth lends itself to yeast organisms.

I have been married to an uncircumcised man for 20+ years and yeast infections can be an issue due to heat and sweat under the foreskin. In humidity you can only take so many showers!!! Sometimes in the hotter months the yeast becomes very challenging to eradicate. Hence, we both suffer!

I used to be opposed to circumcision...but now I am all for it!

because many parents of babies these days are accustomed to seeing a circumcised penis in the US as it was common practice when we were all born in the 70s & 80s.

Some still believe it is more sanitary. Even though no medical association on the planet recommends it as a routine practice, including our own American Academy of Pediatrics. The US is the only country who still does this for no medical reason to newborn boys.

Religious/cultural reasons are one thing... because you have a misconception that it's "easier to clean" or "more attractive" is another.

There are rare circumstances where an older boy or man must have this type of surgery done....

...but just as a comparison here - would you take your child's tonsils or appendix out just because you don't want him to have to deal with the pain IF he needs this surgery when he's 12?? It is more common that a boy will need his tonsils removed for a medical problem/infection than it is his foreskin.

Circumcision is not necessary, so I am not in favour of it.
I don't believe in making my baby go through a traumatic experience for no real reason.
In Australia around 90% of male babies are not circumcised these days.
I will teach my son good hygiene habits and to keep himself clean.

Apparently this is far more cultural than I realized. My second husband was not bec of his mom's ch. science faith. I must honestly say it didn't seem to be a problem for him, but I am NOT sure it was not a problem for me (health issues then). If it was my son, I would want it done. Boys have a hard enough time keeping clean...why make it worse?

My son was not cut and i regret everyday! He has problems with keeping it clean( He's five) even though we try to male sure he knows to pullit back and to wash it good in the tub. we had problems with it when he was smaller and are looking into getting him cut now before he is much older. I think it is to much for a child to take care of and can lead to serious problems if not cared for properly.

I am in favor of the circumcision. It is a lot cleaner, safer, and healthier for the baby.

I'm definitely not in favour of it. Luckily it is now very uncommon here in Australia. It's sad people put their kids through that though.
