They should sue the school for denying their child a right to education.
But apparently 4 year olds need to be exposed to 'real life' like abduction and murder according to some teachers (friggen numpties)

No that is not the case at all, the children going to that school knew months ago, those who are not going to that school are going to another school, it just depends where you live, children, at the moment, go to the nearest school to their home, every child would have been placed in a school months ago so dont worry, there are no children sitting at home missing out on their education.
besides, it's the school who have chosen to save the place for maddie, so why would anyone sue the McCanns?
EDIT: lol, why does so many people think that there is going to be this one empty chair in the corner of the room that all the children are going to notice?? classes don't have the exact number of chairs to pupils, there are probaby 4 or 5 or more empty spaces in the class, i don't know what you guys expect the school to do? can you imagine if they gave up maddies space to another child already?

Are you a teensy bit jealous?
What if Maddie does get found? What of her education? Besides which it is not Madelaine's parents who decide to keep the place open for her, it is that of the school governors! I am sure they have not taken the decision lightly.
Until there is a dead body, there is every hope she is still alive! When she is found she deserves a bit of education!
A bit more compassion pleeze. Just put yourself in her parents' shoes and try to imagine what pain and anguish they are going through - you probably will not come near!

get a grip! Have you nothing better to worry about? If Maddie is found alive and well, then she is entitled to resume her place at the school. This site is beginning to sicken me with all the vile comments made about people, who as yet, are not considered to be guilty of any crime by the people who are actively investigating this case.

An empty chair is nothing new.
There is Thor's chair, the empty chair that the Jews always leave for Elijah etc
The chair at the school is for Maddie if she is found well.
If not, itwill no doubt be used for another child.
If it were you or me we would hope for the same treatment.

Kamran, the chair wasn't the McCann's idea. It was the school's.
Thank you for proving my point.
Accusations are being hurled against the McCanns without proof.
In future, get your facts straight before hurling accusations, will you please?

I thought it was the school who suggest this. If that is the case then they can't.

Just because Dave S asked a similar question you have to jump up and ask the same. You're very very very very very very very very very very very very boring.
Don't you have some homework to do for your college course in September?
Well, that's a shame that you don't enrol on that date. It would give your mind something else to do instead of sitting in your bedroom thinking of questions to ask relating to the McCanns.
What a surprise. Jack H has come up with another gem saying how unfair it is that the children should see an empty chair. The school did this and not the McCanns. Life is harsh and sadly school children learn from an early age what goes on in the world.
You can't wrap them in cotton wool all the time
