Just about everyone is. The government, especially Bush's, allows companies to pollute and degrade the environment. But the consumer who uses products from that degradation are just as cupable as the companies themselves. If there were no markets for their products, the companies would clean up their act.
And since we as individuals can't really affect what others do, it is our own actions that are important. As they say, you are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution. It gets down to what kind of car you drive, do you recycle, what kind of light bulb you use, what kind of electricity do you pay for, what kind of food do you eat, where do you buy it and do you pay attention to where it comes from. For example, you might be a vegetarian which is very good for the environment if the food is grown locally, however, if you are buying organic plums from Chile, then you are not helping the environment, but hurting it. It all comes to personal decisions you make every day. It is our decisions that dictate whether companies will be responsible corporate citizens or not. It is our decisions and who we vote for that dictate what the government will do. So are you responsible for the problem or are you a part of the solution.

While thinking about responsibility, i think that i am responsible for degradation of environment.
Because i am doing nothing to stop it, while my vehicle is increasing the pollution.
But if we calcute contribution in the pollution, no doubt industries are spreading more pollution.
And businessmen are responsible for environment degradation.
Government can not do anything about it, because businessmen and industrialists are running the government.

Government only partiablly. We for sure. A country or a town is only as good as its citizens. "We" could take initiatives. Why go far, if "we" take care of our immediate surroundings, most of this issue is solved. Government organised different dust bins but I find many dumping their garbage "around" it and not "into" it. Ooty for example is called a plastic-free zone but many places are littered with plastic wrappers which is the handy-work by tourists. If the environment is to be changed, "we" need to change; afterall 'environment" is nothing but our surroundings.

Everyone is. We knock down trees, do not recycle, waste power and water, believe the idea that we have to change things every few years to be fashionable. Government is because they do not make business clean up their production techniques or develop a public transport system. Business just wants profit

Environmental degradation is a byproduct of "science" and a disposable mentality of consumers.
If you are referring to "global warming" humanity has nothing to do with climate change. It is a natural cycle that earth has been going through since the beginning.
It is also the biggest political football available for Gore and others who constantly look for ways to control what we think, say and do.
