you have these athletes with all the talent but commit the dumbest crimes. Im a huge WVU and they jus suspended three players from the team because they are under arrest for stealing a tv and laptop and other small items??? then all these pro athletes commiting stupid crimes, when they can retire at 35 and never have to worry about a thing...

they are not all stupid. just a select few. Look around the place you work. i am sure there are a few stupid people there but not all. its the way of the world.

In part, you just hear about their actions. If you take a large number of kids aged 18-22, some are going to get into trouble. The ones on the WVU football team will be on the front page of the sports section; the others will be back in the police blotter if listed at all.
There's also the fame and attention issue. Many athletes are told from day one that they are something special because they can run, jump, hit, throw, etc. They get special treatment throughout their lives. It's easy to make the jump that people will look the other way when they act inappropriately. You'd have to think Michael Vick thought he was "bullet-proof."

They don't think about the long run. All they can think about is the money/drugs/fame that they have at the moment. It is stupid and they should be punished for it, maybe it they actually had to spend some time in prison then they would think about it...probably not though...they'll just write a book about how they didn't do it and then make millions that way
