Have just read an answer which claims that TV was invnted by an American in 1927. I checked his source and there it is in black and white. That would be fine but Logie Baird gave the first demonstration of it in 1924. I don't think this is an isolated case either.

8of2kinds. I'm obviously too thick to get your point. Where is the changing of a fact or claim in "Manifest Destiny"? I'm not talking about writing history, or predicting it, but distorting it. And my pathetic example was only to make my point.

I don't know why, but I see it more and more these days. Every time you turn around these days you hear the phrase " but now we know that..." as if there's been some new discovery. Sometimes it's true, for example an old diary was discovered that sheds new light on a historical topic. Usually, though, there's this statement that now we know more about something with no identifiable source for claiming this. Americans are mostly ignorant of history anyway, so they're not hard to fool

In this instance I don't think they have. Baird (demonstrated in 1925 (not 24)). Regardless:
Vladimir Kosma Zworykin, a Russian-born American inventor working for Westinghouse is credited with the invention of Modern Television.
"...This was because the patent for the heart of the TV, the electron scanning tube, was first applied for by Zworykin in 1923, under the name of an iconoscope..."

The first television broadcast using radio waves was in the United States in 1927. This is a reasonable distinction. Who invented television really depends on how you define what television is.
Just to add: Baird invented a crude form of cable television. Bell Labs made the first broadcast television. Since there were not TV cables spread all over the world, Bell Labs was the first to make something which had a practical application. It was all based on work done in the late 1800's in Russia, by Zworykin and Rosing.

The Communist did it , Hitler did it, every power is known for doing this and entire peoples have been wiped out or came very close to rewrite history. In 1915 the Turks committed genocide on Christian Armenians to rewrite history and today our Government will not make this Islamic country deal with this as well as the Jewish lobby which by the way was th training ground for Germany as they were a big part of this.
Today here in the USA as all over the drive by media will not tell you every thing you need to know so they can empower th left and not tell the truth so you need to go to places like Rush or Glenn Beck to get the truth which they will provide the back up information where it comes from and with the net you can check it out for your self and not some Lib blog of lie.

Because it suits our nationalistic jingoism. The same reason every other nation does it too. But you're outraged about the inventor of television? How about Manifest Destiny? Pick something worth bitching about at least.

You should ask Hillary about rewriting history. Her "Living History" is a prime example of revisionist writing.
