Maybe we will all be wearing silver space suits by the time we're 80...? or clothes that are made of some kind of modern techno-magic material that changes colour/texture with our moods.....??
Or in my case will still hanging out in 70's inspired rainbow brite t-shirts, flares and adidas....
I find it interesting that at 40 i have now seen fashions go round a few time - looked at a photo of me aged 19 other day and i'm wearing turned up shorts jumpsuit with dayglo pink belt - same as one that's in New Look shop at moment - that i laughed at for being so naff......whoops!
but when your 80 will you really give a damn about cool..... i'm going for a purple crimpoline frock (to match my hair shade), granny sandles and pop socks - hurrah for not giving a hoot.....!!

if u wear heels and a skirt at that age...hello...mutton dressed as lamb!! well actually depends on the kind of skirt. I htink i would try to wear nice trousers (jeans look silly on old ppl!!!!). i would keep the top half sophisticated but casual and comfy, like plain tees and nice cardis. I'll also hopefully still have an ok figure so i wouldnt wear anything baggy, just nice.

You tend to go for comfort and preferably lots of mis-matched patterns and layers.
You can wear what you want but i doubt that high heels and skirts will still have the appeal-careful of looking like mutton dressed as lamb, or too provocative.
I think people start dressing old just to fit into what they are supposed to be.
And hairstyles are another thing,
tightly permed hair-that only suits a poodle-it's a mistake as you can still have hair when you are old-stop perming it!
you can wear jeans and be relatively comfy with a cardigan.

"When I am 80 I shall wear purple" thats a poem, I bought it for my nan years ago. All about how when you are old you are allowed to wear clothes that don't match and have a walking stick just to hit small children... lovely!
I actually can't wait to be old, I will wear whatever I want - with an apron on top! I want to be the sort of grandma that is always baking cakes and spoiling her grandkids rotten!

You can wear nice skirts and even jeans,,,but believe me at 80 you WILL want to wear those sandals...The leg muscles and your back will be too weak for strutting about in heels.
