Lets Remember formulas.
Y=m(x) + B ( midpoint formula)
Distance Formula= d= square root of (x sub 2-X sub 1) squared+ (y sub 2 - y sub 1 ) squared
Distance for #2= (4,2)(-2,7) NOW plug it in 4=
X sub 2= 4
X sub 1= -2
meaning X sub 2 - x sub 1 = (4--2) squared
Two -- equal a + Meaning 6 squared = 36 + y sub 2 - y sub 1 squared)
y sub 2 - y sub 1 = 2-7= -5 (squared) == 36+25=61 thats where I messed up just found it

Answer part 1 : I think its called the point of origin. but not sure
Answer part 2: The distance formula on a number line is the amount of spaces between 0 and that number example if the distance is -3 then it is 3 or another example 15 , is 15 spaces away from 0 the distance will never be negative.

ANSWER TO #2 Distance = square root of 61

Midpoint formula is (x sub 1 + x sub 2) /2 , Y sub 1 + Y sub 2 /2

ANSWER midpoint 3 A= (4,2)
ANSWER midpoint 3 B= (1/2) , 0 (0/1)=0=== (1/2),0

I will give you midpoints not sure how to find the endpoints

3.A: Q has coordinates (x,y) such that P(5,2) is the midpoint of NQ, with N(2,0). Then P((2 + x)/2,(0 + y)/2) = P(5,2). Solve
(2 + x)/2 = 5, and (0 + y)/2 = 2.
